patterns of patience
patterns of patience draws inspiration from the intricate weaves and motifs of chikankari --- a craft rooted in time, precision, and repetition. built entirely through threadwork on canvas, the piece explores how texture, pattern, and movement can emerge through the careful balance of positive and negative space.
the forms reveal themselves gradually through layers of thread and absence alike, reflecting the slow, meditative rhythm of the craft itself. while the inspiration comes from traditional weaves, the final form is abstract and contemporary, moving away from direct representation while still carrying the essence of the technique.
conceived as a set of nine, the works are designed to exist both together and individually. each piece feels complete on its own, while collectively they create a larger visual rhythm across the wall. every artwork can also be hung from any side, allowing the composition to shift and evolve depending on the space--- offering a sense of movement and newness each time it is arranged differently.
